Alcohol Policy

You must be 21 years of age to purchase all alcohol products. The Alerus Center will not serve alcohol to anyone who appears intoxicated and reserves the right to refuse service to anyone.

Animals

The Alerus Center welcomes Seeing Eye Dogs or other animal assistance utilized by the disabled or visually impaired. All other animals are prohibited.

Banners and Signs

Banners/signs are welcome inside the meeting rooms and ballrooms at Alerus Center. To ensure that these articles do not distract from the enjoyment of other fans, the Alerus Center requests that guests adhere to the following guidelines:

Banners/signs should in no way infringe on the sightlines of other Alerus Center guests. Banners/signs may not be commercial, political, derogatory or obscene as determined by Alerus Center Staff. Signs must not utilize wood or metal material or other types of objects for support. Banners/signs must be affixed by using mat tape. Permission must be obtained from the Alerus Center prior to hanging any banner/sign and the Alerus Center reserves the right to remove any banner/sign.

Bottles & Cans

Glass bottles are not allowed inside the Alerus Center. Cans may be taken off of suite level but glass must stay on the suite level at all times. No outside food or beverage is allowed inside the Alerus Center.

Cameras and Video Equipment

Still cameras are permitted in the Alerus Center on an event by event basis. Video cameras are not allowed and will be confiscated if brought into the arena.

Code of Conduct

The Alerus Center promotes good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches, and spectators. We request your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, racial, or sexist comments or other intimidating actions directed at officials, student-athletes, coaches, or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site and, if needed, additional disciplinary actions.

Credit Card Policy

Visa, MasterCard, Discover & American Express are accepted in the Box Office and as payment on convention rentals only.

Diaper Changing Stations

Diaper changing stations are available in every concourse restroom within the facility.

 

The Lactation Suite sponsored by Plains Chiropractic and Acupuncture provides a private, welcoming environment to mothers and is a comfortable place to nurse, express breastmilk and care for their babies, and can be found in Meeting Room 11.

Directions To The Alerus Center

From Interstate 29 southbound – Take the Demers Avenue exit and take a right onto Demers Avenue. From there you will travel east until you run into S. 42nd Street. Take a right onto S. 42nd St. and head south, the Alerus Center will be on your right.

From Interstate 29 northbound – Take the Demers Avenue exit and take a right onto Demers Avenue. Travel east until S. 42nd St. Take a right on S. 42nd St. and head south, the Alerus Center will be on your right.

From Highway 2 eastbound – Highway 2 turns into Gateway Drive. Follow Gateway Drive until S. 42nd St. Take a right on S. 42nd St. and travel south, crossing Demers Avenue. Continue south on S. 42nd St., Alerus Center is on your right.

Disabled Access

Disabled access into the Alerus Center may be found at entrances 1, 2, 3 and 5. The Alerus Center accommodates disabled guests by providing reserved parking, wheelchair ramps, and wider doorways and grab bars in restroom stalls. We will make any accommodation we can to make your visit to the Alerus Center an enjoyable one. We can also furnish assistive devices for the hearing impaired. Contact should be made to the ticket office well prior to the event.

Elevator / Escalators

There are two elevators located in the lobby of Entrance 1 that access both concourse and suite level. 

There is also an elevator in Entrances 2 & 3 with concourse access only.

Entrance Locations

There are seven different entrances into The Alerus Center. Entrance 1 is the main entrance for access to the Box Office and Administration offices. The Alerus Center is also accessible from the north through the Canad Inn during business hours.

First Aid Stations

The Medical/First Aid Office is located in the Northeast corner of the concourse near section 209.

Gift Certificates

The Alerus Center gift certificates can be purchased at the Alerus Center Box Office.

Guest services are located in the Administrative Offices in the main lobby of Entrance 1.

Jr. Champions Club

Jr. Champions Kids Club presented by Gate City Bank is open for all youth 8th grade and under. All members will receive a t-shirt, membership card, free admission to home North Dakota Volleyball games, Men's and Women's Basketball games, and Track & Field events. Members will also receive discounted tickets to select home Football and Men's Hockey games as well as other opportunities and giveaways. Lost and Found

Lost & Found is located in the administrative office which is located in the main lobby of Entrance 1. If you have something to turn in it can be brought to the main office or turned over to Alerus Center Security.

Lost Children / Missing Friends

Guests are encouraged to report a missing person(s) to anyone on the Alerus Center event staff. Alerus Center staff will work closely with GFPD and Alerus Center Security to help locate any missing individual(s).

Mascots

Live or dead animal mascots are not allowed inside Alerus Center. Anyone caught with such items will be removed from the facility.

Merchandise / Souvenirs

Merchandise stands for most concert events are located on the main and concourse levels, inside a designated meeting room or in a designated location on the arena floor.

Metal Detectors

During major ticketed events, walk thru metal detectors will be used. During these events, fans are encouraged to leave non-essential items at home or in their vehicles. Big purses will not be allowed during these events. Please limit your carry-in items to cell phones, keys, wallets, and small clutch bags. Bags larger than 8.5 inches x 5.5 inches are prohibited.

North Dakota Champions Club

Established in 1996 to provide annual support for the athletic scholarship fund at UND, the North Dakota Champions Club helps the UND Athletic Department and more than 400 student-athletes maintain a tradition of excellence in the classroom and in the competitive arena. Parking

Parking is $15 for all other ticketed events. Alerus Center partners with ParkMobile to offer prepaid parking. Parking for concerts is typically cheaper if paid for in advance. Buy Parking

Premium Seating

The Alerus Center offers Premium seating on the Suite level. For more information on how you can become a suite holder at the Alerus Center, please call 792-1200.

Prohibited Items

NOTICE: You and your belongings may be searched upon entry.  Ticket holder consents to a reasonable search for such items below and waives any related claims that may arise.

Alerus Center Center Management reserves the right to make the final determination on prohibited items.

  • Outside food or beverage, alcohol, bottles or cans
  • Professional cameras, cameras with detachable lenses, or lenses longer than 2.5”

  • Drones (UAS-Unmanned Aircraft Systems) or other model aircraft
  • Animals (unless a service animal)
  • Weapons (guns, firearms, ammunition, nightsticks, nunchucks, stun guns/tasers)
  • Knives, brass knuckles, billy clubs, blackjacks, kubatons
  • Self Defense Sprays/ Pepper Spray
  • Explosives
  • Fuels (torches, lighter fluid)

Prohibited items cannot be stored or held at the entrance points, security base or guest services.

Radios

People wishing to listen to the radio broadcast while at a UND event are welcome to do so. The radio being used may not be any bigger than a hand held radio and must be equipped with earphones.

Re-Entry Policy

Once you are admitted into The Alerus Center, there is no re-admittance if you choose to leave. (See smoking policy)

Restrooms

Restrooms are located in the Pre-function hallway, East concourse and West concourse.

Search Procedures

All personnel are subject to search upon entry. Any person refusing search will not be admitted and may receive a full refund from the box office.

Security

The Alerus Center works closely with the Grand Forks Police Department to provide a safe and secure environment for all guests. Our security team is in the facility during events to help. 

Sensory Room & Sensory Bags

Spectra has partnered with KultureCity to make Alerus Center programs and events sensory inclusive. This new initiative will promote an accommodating and positive experience for all guests and fans with sensory issues visiting the facility. This initiative includes staff training, sensory bags, and sensory room sponsored by Altru. 

Smoking Policy

As of January 1, 2015, Alerus Center joined the City of Grand Forks by going completely smoke-free. Smoking will be prohibited both inside the building and within 25 feet of any door on the exterior of the building. Guests will no longer be allowed to exit and re-enter the building for the purpose of smoking.  Thank you for your cooperation to provide a healthy smoke-free environment.

Sponsors

The Alerus Center currently has a very limited number of advertising spots available. For information on becoming an advertiser at the Alerus Center on an annual basis or on a per event basis, please call 792-1200.

Strollers

Strollers are welcome inside the arena for young children and infants but are subject to search.

Suites

The Alerus Center houses 14 private suites with suites available for annual lease or event-by-event purchase. For information on renting a suite or becoming an annual suiteholder, please call Derek Hoffert at 701.792.1406 or email derek.hoffert@spectraxp.com.

Tailgating

There are a limited number of season spaces available. Single-game tailgating passes may be purchased for $10/space on the day of the game at the south entrance of the parking lot. The tailgating lot opens 5 hours prior to game-time. For more info call 701-792-1200.

To purchase tickets in advance, visit the Alerus Center Box Office or go online to Ticketmaster.com.

Child Admittance 
Companion tickets are no longer required. Any child that is younger than two years of age will be admitted to most events for free. Anyone over the age of two will be required to have a ticket before entering the building. Any questions about this can be fielded by the Alerus Center Box Office (701) 792-1417.

Disabled/Wheelchair Seating 
All public areas of the building are accessible using ADA guidelines. Seats are available at various price levels. Contact the ticket office manager for all of your seating needs. Wheelchairs are available at doors 1, 2, and 3 and a picture ID will need to be presented and will be held by the Alerus Center until the wheelchair is returned. The Alerus Center can also furnish assistive devices for the hearing impaired. Please contact the box office well prior to the event to reserve the device.

Lost or Stolen Tickets 
Tickets that are either lost or stolen are the ticket holder’s responsibility and can not be refunded or replaced. Any questions should be directed to the Alerus Center Box Office.

Payment Options 
Payment Options for all Alerus Center events include cash and credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express). Alerus Center no longer accepts checks at the Ticket Office.

TXT Alert System

If you have an issue in our facility, see something suspicious, or find an area that needs staff attention, text your location and a brief description of the issue to 701-248-0733.

The Txt Alert system is a program offering guests the ability to text the company to report issues that may require immediate attention. The system offers guests attending an event the ability to text into Alerus Center management to report issues such as non-emergency suspicious activity, non-emergency security issues, spills, restroom/cleanliness issues, and other situations that require immediate staff attention.  The system promotes public safety by using the public as the eyes and ears of Alerus Center and encourages guests to say something if they see something that seems suspicious, so that staff can investigate and address issues in real time. Additionally, the system allows the guest to inform staff of issues and have those issues addressed, without having to seek out a staff member. 

UND Student Tickets

Wheelchairs

The Alerus Center has wheelchairs available for use during all events. They are available at doors 1, 2, and 3. A picture ID must be presented and will be held by the Alerus Center Staff until the wheelchair is returned.

Will Call

Will Call is available for various events per request of the ticket purchaser. Tickets can be picked up at any open ticket office window, during business hours, after the purchase is made. The individual picking up the tickets must present his/her picture ID and the credit card used.

Protesting

A civil disturbance in this context is seem to be a large group of people or public that pose a threat to the guests, performers or staff or building either inside or outside of Alerus Center. Alerus Center must be notified through established links with Grand Forks Police Department regarding potential protest and civil unrest situations. When time allows, a full assessment of the potential impacts to operations and image should be conducted in order to develop an appropriate response plan based on known factors.

 

Alerus Center limits the opportunity to demonstrate, protest or collect signatures on Alerus Center grounds to a designated free speech zone, which is located at the base of the flagpoles. No demonstrations, protests or collection of signatures are allowed within Alerus Center. Failure to comply may be a violation of Grand Forks City Code and/or North Dakota Century Code. Alerus Center reserves all rights and authorities to enforce the provisions of this policy.

 

While in the designated Free Speech Zone, they will not be allowed to impede vehicular traffic on the roadway or pedestrian traffic on the sidewalks. While in the Free Speech Zone they will be allowed to use an amplifier to project their message as long as the decibel level does not exceed the level allowed by City Ordinance. During events that sell booth space, these persons will be allowed to purchase a booth (with permission of the entity holding the event) for the purpose of their demonstration or collection of signatures. No amplification system can be used during the event.
